Our Story

It seems like yesterday that we attended our first specialty show in Reading, PA.  We were going to meet Laurie Hunter from NicNak Yorkshire Terriers.  It was at that show we picked up "Sugar" - a little, dark completely adorable puppy bitch.  There was no doubt that she belonged with us, for the moment I picked her up she covered my face with kisses. That was in August of 2002, the start of our addiction - for now, we are yorkie addicts!

A little more than three years have passed, and we have successfully obtained two American Championships and three Canadian Championships.  We currently have two males with points toward their American Championships and one needing only three singles.  We regular attend specialties and have attended over a dozen in the past three years.  Here at Divine, we have shown dogs to group placements, specialty Award of Merits, and specialty Winner's.

Since Laurie gratiously sold us "Sugar", Am/Can Ch NicNak's Too Sweet to Forget, in 2002, we have since obtained "Skye", Can Ch NicNak's High Expectations, and "Chip", NicNak's Keep the Change.  We have also been fortunate enough to have gained the trust of Laurie, and we had the honor of loving, showing, and specialing "Andrew", Am/Can Ch NicNak's Born to Win.

In the last year or so, we have also added to our breeding program "Dealer", Parkside's Best Deal, who will begin his show career in latter part of 2005.  A HUGE thank you to Marie Kaufman-Cardona for allowing us to have "Dealer".

So far, "Sugar" and "Skye" have produced lovely puppies for us.  We currently have some lovely puppies and teenagers, all Grandchildren or Great-Grandchildren of "Gator", BIS/BISS Am/Can Ch Rothby's Reneégade, ROM.  We can't wait to see them grow - watch out for them in NY 2006.

In the short time we have been involved in the breed, we have had the opportunity to make great friends from accross the world.  Without these friends, we would not be where are today. We thank you, our friends, for the support and caring friendship we have enjoyed over the last few years.

And, we would be remiss if we did not send out a special, special thanks to Laurie Hunter. There are very few times, in one's life, where an encounter turns into a lasting, special friendship. Bob and I are fortunate to have had on of those encounters. By purchasing a dog from Laurie, we not only obtained a great start to what will hopefully be a successful run in yorkies, but more importantly, we obtained a BEST FRIEND. Thank you, Laurie, for being there for us when the times get tough, when its time to celebrate, and especially, just to be a friend who cares.

Thanks for reading about us, and thanks for visiting our site - we hope you enjoy it.

See you in the ring!
